Blake Shelton will play his first Las Vegas residency next February. The country music superstar announced its first six dates at Caesars Palace on Thursday.
“If you’re going to have a stake in Las Vegas, you got to do a residency also if you’re an artist,” Shelton told People Magazine. “I’ve just been kicking the can down the road because I wanted the Ole Red to be open before I did it.”
Shelton is of course referring to the country music bar he opened in January. It is almost a guarantee that the 48-year-old — who has already performed twice there with his famous wife, Gwen Stefani — will return for additional gigs during his Caesars gig, which is just across the street.
Tickets for Shelton’s residency go on sale to the public Friday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m., with an artist presale beginning Friday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m., at Ticketmaster.com/BlakeSheltonVegas.
Rodspeed
Rod Stewart canceled the planned 200th show of his Caesars Palace residency on Aug. 7, only a few hours before it was scheduled to start.
“I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration,” the 79-year-old Stewart wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.”
Wednesday’s show was originally planned to end the “Maggie May” singer’s 13-year residency at the Colosseum on a milestone number.
However, only a few hours before canceling the show, Stewart announced 12 more dates in 2025: March 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, and 22; May 29 and 31; and June 1, 5, 7, and 8.
Tickest for those will go on sale Monday, Aug. 12 at 10 p.m. PT via ticketmaster.com/rodstewartvegas.
NE-YO Gets Key-o
Two songs into his “Human Love Rebellion” residency at the Wynn’s Encore Theater on Wednesday, NE-YO was surprised by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, who walked on stage to present the R&B superstar with a key to the city and a proclamation declaring it “NE-YO Day” in Las Vegas.
The Wynn, like every other business on the Las Vegas Strip, lies in unincorporated Clark County, not the city of Las Vegas.
But no one is supposed to point that out to you.
