Today, Samsung officially released its stable One UI 8.5 update globally, after a pilot run in South Korea. The Galaxy S25 series is not the only one to get the new software. Owners of Galaxy S24 and S23 devices (including the Fan Edition series) should also expect the update in the coming days.

Samsung starts seeding stable One UI 8.5 to Galaxy S, Fold, Flip and Tab series

Samsung is also ready with One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Flip7, Z Fold7, Z Flip6, Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Tab S10 and S11 series. Some Galaxy A models are also expected to receive One UI 8.5 these days, but it will likely take a bit longer for Samsung to distribute.

Don’t be fooled by the incremental numerical change. One UI 8.5 brings quite a few improvements and new features, including a minor UI design refresh.

Of course, the main efforts are toward Galaxy AI – more powerful image editing and generation tools, smarter Bixby, deeper integration with Perplexity AI, new camera features like Document scan, Log video previews in real time and dual video recording using the selfie and one of the back cameras simultaneously.

There are a handful of other improvements to Samsung Health, Quick Share, connectivity and better power saving.
