Protestors at the action, which was organized by the anti-war ANSWER Coalition, denounced the U.S. military involvement in Iran and said the strikes would only intensify violence in the region.
The Trump administration on Saturday carried out the military strikes without Congressional approval, a move many members of Congress in the Bay Area called illegal.
Suzanne Ali with the Palestinian Youth Movement’s Bay Area chapter said it also violates international law and norms.
“It’s putting everyone in the world at threat of something nuclear [coming] out of this,” Ali said. “It’s World War III.”
Ali said organizers plan to “continue to pour into the streets” until the United States imposes an arms embargo on Israel.
“If the US won’t do it, then the people will,” Ali said.
