Jon Bon Jovi recently confirmed that his band, Bon Jovi, was offered a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas and, shockingly, turned the offer down.

The 62-year-old singer made the revelation during an interview this week with the web’s Ultimate Classic Rock. While Bon Jovi didn’t say exactly how much Sphere CEO James Dolan offered the pop-metal band from New Jersey to follow U2‘s inaugural residency, money apparently wasn’t the issue.

Bon Jovi said he got cold feet after attending U2’s opening of the $2.3 billion spherical concert venue on September 29.

That’s the first thing that goes through your mind, ‘How would I present this?’” Bon Jovi said. “I was like, ‘Wow, how do I even wrap my arms around this? And how much time would it take to develop all this, to capture something that would be worthy that could follow this incredible production?’”

“I don’t see, necessarily, how I could pull that one off.”
