Spotify’s latest feature is something third parties have offered for a long time, and in fact it’s actually launching in partnership with one of those third parties. We’re talking about the ability to transfer your playlists from competing services right into Spotify.

This is powered by TuneMyMusic, a service that has been offering playlist transfers between online music streaming services for quite a while now. It’s now sort of integrated into Spotify itself, but of course only for playlists you want to move into Spotify, and not out of it.

Spotify now has a built-in way to transfer your playlists from competing services

Just go to Your Library in the Spotify mobile app, scroll to the bottom, then tap “Import your music” and follow the prompts to connect with TuneMyMusic. Then you simply choose the competing platform where your playlists you’d like to import are located, select which playlists you want to bring around to Spotify, and they will be transferred. There are no limits to how many playlists you can import or how many songs each can contain.

This feature is deemed to be “rolling out globally over the coming days”, so if you don’t see it yet, just be patient – it will show up eventually.
