“Pawn Stars” regulars Rick Harrison and Austin “Chumlee” Russell are about to launch a podcast capitalizing on their 15 years of fame from the History Channel reality TV series. “Pawn After Dark” — a play on the syndicated ’60s TV series, “Playboy After Dark” — will launch in January on most major streaming platforms.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which broke the story, the podcast will feature interviews with celebrities who will each bring an item for the duo to appraise. According to the newspaper, the first batch of celebs will include Raiders owner Mark Davis, ZZ Top co-founder Billy Gibbons and BMX cyclist and TV host T.J. Lavin.

Harrison has known Chumlee since he befriended Harrison’s son, Corey (known on the show as “Big Hoss”), at Las Vegas’ Jon C. Fremont Middle School. Harrison hired Chumlee at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop when he was 21.
It can safely be presumed that Corey was asked to be a part of the new podcast. However, he recently relocated to Tulum, Mexico, as reported by the Review-Journal.
“Pawn After Dark” will be recorded in a secret studio on the second floor of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. This is the same studio where Rick, Corey and Chumlee pretend to appraise items from customers who walk in off the street.
In reality, only the first season of “Pawn Stars” was filmed in the actual Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. After it began airing, swarming crowds of autograph- and selfie-seekers interrupted the shop’s business too much.
So, since Season 2, all transactions on the show have been filmed in the studio, after being worked out in advance with the actors cast to participate in them.
“Pawn After Dark” will not be produced by the History Channel.
