On July 17, the Las Vegas Review-Journal published a list of the Top 10 grossing Las Vegas residencies of all time.

Ascribing dollar figures to Las Vegas concerts is difficult and controversial since that information is usually kept secret by the venues, their partner resorts, and by concert promoters Live Nation and AEG Presents.

The R-J wrote that it compiled its list based on sales tracked internationally by the Instagram page @TouringMedia, combined with reports from Billboard magazine. (Casino.org couldn’t find any publication of concert grosses by @TouringMedia on Instagram, and Billboard only publishes dollar figures from the rare Las Vegas venues that provide it to them.)

The R-J’s list doesn’t include Adele, because her residency at Caesars Palace is ongoing. However, it does include Bruno Mars, whose residency at Park MGM is also ongoing.

The R-J reports that “Weekends with Adele” is expected to gross $220 million by the time it wraps in November. In that case, it would knock Elton John from the fourth spot, though how Bruno Mars fares through September 1 could change that.

The online casino Playstar released a similar list last March.

The news peg for the R-J’s story was Lady Gaga’s recent conclusion of her relatively simultaneous Park MGM residencies, “Jazz + Piano” and “Enigma.” The newspaper combined them for a No. 8 showing at $110 million.
