Taylor Swift Announces New Album The Life of a Showgirl on Travis Kelce’s Podcast: All the Details
Taylor Swift‘s album announcements will never go out of style.
While making her debut on boyfriend Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast Aug. 13, the Grammy winner revealed her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl is on its way.
“So I wanted to show you something,” Taylor, who now officially owns the rights to all of her album masters, shared in a clip released on Instagram at 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12. “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
She removed a vinyl from a mint green briefcase, but the cover art was blurred out—with her website stating that the art will be revealed at a later date.
So, when can fans expect new music? Her site says the products—available for pre-order—ship before Oct. 13, but adds a disclaimer: “THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE DATE, OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.”
It’s been over a year since Taylor released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which featured songs about her relationship with Travis, including “The Alchemy” and “So High School.”
Now, announcing her new record on the Kelce brothers’ podcast is an extra special nod to Taylor and Travis’ relationship. In fact, their love story began when the Kansas City Chiefs star jokingly called Taylor out on New Heights after attending an Eras Tour concert in July 2023.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis told Jason at the time. “So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
