CARFAC is excited to announce the release of INDIGENOUS PROTOCOLS dot ART – an essential resource for navigating Indigenous Protocols for visual artists and the artistic community. It is part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen respect for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis visual art and artists, and legal and moral rights in the lands commonly known as Canada.

Throughout Fall 2023, they will offer a series of workshops where they share information about Indigenous Protocols for the visual arts sector. Different workshops have been designed specifically for Indigenous artists, non-Indigenous artists, as well as galleries, museums, and arts organizations. 

Indigenous Artists:
Tuesday, Dec. 14th 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
The featured speaker for this workshop is Shelley Niro, Mohawk Painter, Photographer, and Filmmaker.

Non-Indigenous Artists:
Thursday, Nov. 16th, 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
The featured speaker for this workshop is Glenn Gear, an Animator, Filmmaker and Visual Artist.

Thursday, Dec. 7th, 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
The featured speaker for this workshop is Heather Shillinglaw, Visual Artist and Activist
