- President Trump has made yet another joke about running in 2028
- Trump’s forthcoming prediction market, Truth Predict, jokes about the presidential election, too
- Trump is constitutionally barred from running for the presidency again
President Donald Trump loves to tease that he might run in the 2028 presidential election, even though he’s constitutionally barred from doing so. The president once again raised the topic during his speech this week at the US Coast Guard Academy Commencement.

At Cadet Memorial Field in Connecticut, Trump suggested he could be president long after 2028. Discussing when 11 icebreaker ships will be delivered, the president told the graduating class, “We’re making, right now, currently under construction, we have 11.”
I said, ‘When’s the first one coming?’ They said, ‘In ’28.’ I said, ‘I’m going to be here in ’28. Maybe I’ll be here in ’32, too. I don’t know. Maybe I will,” Trump said.
It certainly isn’t the first time Trump has publicly said he’s considering another run at the presidency. Though that would require an amendment to the Constitution, Trump said in March 2025 that “there are methods that you could do it.”
This Newsweek article tracks the numerous times Trump has talked about winning the 2028 election.
Trump Trolls 2028
The Trump Store sells a TRUMP 2028 red hat. The online retailer says the hat will “rewrite the rules.”
The president’s 2028 trolling doesn’t end there.
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), controlled by the Trump family, is expected to soon enter the prediction market business.
The placeholder page for TruthPredict.ai teases that Truth Predict will be heavily focused on politics, with an example asking if Trump will win the presidential election on Nov. 7, 2028. The “Trump wins 2028 election” contract question shows hypothetical traders giving Trump implied odds of 60% to win. The odds are, of course, extremely inflated and likely to provoke a response from Trump opponents.
On Kalshi, live odds suggest Trump has a 3.9% of winning the 2028 presidential election. State Secretary Marco Rubio is the front-runner at 18%. VP JD Vance is next at 17%, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom is third at 15%.

The Truth Predict landing page has displayed the 2028 election market since the website was published last fall. The prediction market is not yet live, with the placeholder page only for “informational and entertainment purposes” at this juncture.
Truth Predict is set to operate through a partnership with Crypto.com’s OG.com, which holds various derivatives licenses from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Despite President Donald Trump saying last month that the “world has become a casino” with the rise of prediction markets, something he claims he doesn’t like “conceptually,” his family business is investing in the controversial trading sector.
“The whole world, unfortunately, has become somewhat of a casino. You look at what’s going on all over the world, they’re doing these betting things. I was never much in favor of it,” Trump responded in the Oval Office to a question about alleged insider trading activity on a prediction market.
Truth Predict is being integrated into the Truth Social platform, the president’s primary social media network.
Account Registrations Live
While Truth Predict is not yet a live trading prediction market, the platform is accepting account registrations.
Casino.org was able to create a Truth Predict account and open a crypto wallet through the platform’s payment provider, Solana.
