At the end of January, Motorola unveiled two mid-range models, the Moto G67 and Moto G77, and two entry-level phones, the Moto G17 and G17 Power. What do you think – can one of these be your next phone or do you have another model in mind?

The Motorola Moto G77 features a 6.78” 120Hz OLED display, a sharp 1,272 x 2,772px panel with 10-bit colors, HDR support and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. That’s great for multimedia, but the Dimensity 6400 chipset isn’t suitable for serious gaming.

The G77’s claim to fame is the 108MP main camera with OIS that has native 3x in-sensor zoom. It can record 1440p @ 30fps videos and is joined by an 8MP 119° ultra-wide camera. While the UW module isn’t particularly impressive, the 32MP selfie camera (with 1440p @ 30fps video support) is more noteworthy.

The Motorola Moto G67 is basically the same thing, except it loses the high resolution camera – it has a 50MP 1/1.95” main module instead (no OIS). Okay, the chipset is a Dimensity 6300 instead of 6400, but it’s the same silicon, just running at 0.1GHz lower clocks. Realistically, having only half the RAM, 4GB compared to 8GB, will have a much bigger impact on performance. At least both phones offer 128GB and 256GB storage options (and in some regions, 512GB) plus a microSD slot for more.

The G67 has the same battery as its pricier sibling, a 5,200mAh power cell with 30W charging. Both have an IP64 rating too (dust tight, splash proof), which is fairly basic.

The Moto G67 4/128GB can be had for £200, while a 4/256GB model is €260. The Moto G77 8/128GB is £250. In the EU, an 8/512GB G77 goes for €300.

The Motorola Moto G17 is a simple 4G phone with the old Helio G81 Extreme (12nm) chipset. It has a 6.72” IPS LCD, a 5,200mAh battery with 18W charging and an IP64 rating. The 50MP 1/2.0” main camera tops out at 1080p @ 30fps video recording and the 5MP ultra-wide is as basic as they come. The 32MP selfie camera is a bit of a surprise, though.

The Motorola Moto G17 Power upgrades two things. First, memory goes up to 8GB of RAM (up from 4GB) and storage is either 256GB or 512GB (up from 128GB). Both G17 models have microSD slots, so the storage capacity is easy to fix, but the RAM upgrade is notable. And second, the battery on the Power has 6,000mAh capacity and supports faster 30W charging.

The Moto G17 Power costs €230 for an 8/256GB model in the EU or €150 for a 4/128GB unit in the UK. Meanwhile the Moto G17 8/128GB is €200.

Let’s start with the Moto G77 and Moto G67 – which one looks better to you?
