We have a whole world\u2019s worth of culture in one place.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Discos Resaca Collective was able to share this musical love letter to California beyond state \u2014 and even country \u2014 lines. In a surreal, pinch-me moment, they performed \u201cCumbiafornia\u201d at the birthplace of cumbia itself: in San Jacinto Bolivar, Colombia during Cumbia Festival.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very special to perform it [there]. To be embraced in a place with so much cultura for cumbia\u2026 it\u2019s very honorable of them to be open and not closed off,\u201d said Deuce Eclipse. \u201cWe are \u2018Cumbiafornia,\u2019 we do come from all these places, but we honor the tradition of the music as well as try to give it a new voice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
