Rudy Guiliani<\/strong> is recovering from a terrifying car crash.<\/p>\n The former New York City mayor was hospitalized after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on the evening of Aug. 20 in New Hampshire, during which he was allegedly hit from behind on the highway after stopping to help a victim of domestic violence.<\/p>\n \u201cPrior to the incident, he was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident,\u201d Giuliani\u2019s head of security Michael Ragusa<\/strong> wrote in a statement shared to Instagram<\/a> Aug. 31. \u201cMayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cFollowing this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani\u2019s vehicle was struck from behind at a high speed.\u201d<\/p>\n The 81-year-old was then, according to the statement, transported to a nearby trauma center and diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
