Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> wanted to make sure Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> had the best day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So, when it came time to plan his proposal, the Kansas City Chiefs player was worried about the “perfect way” to pop the question\u2014but his dad Ed Kelce <\/strong>and her dad Scott Swift <\/strong>encouraged him to take the plunge.<\/p>\n

“It was a couple weeks ago that Travis got it done, after a few weeks of prodding from myself and from Scott Swift,”\u00a0Ed told Today Australia<\/a><\/em> Aug. 26. “He was going to do it, but wanted to find the perfect way to ask her and to make it special.”<\/p>\n

Their fatherly advice? As Ed noted, “We kept trying to tell him, \u2018When you do it, that’s what makes it special. So, don’t fret on where. Just get it done.\u2019”\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Ed explained to ABC News 5 Cleveland<\/a>, he assuaged the NFL star’s fears by telling him, \u201cYou know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
