Donkey Kong Bananza fans who want to spend even more time with DK and his crew should check out the retired Lego Super Mario: Donkey Kong building sets at Amazon<\/a> while you can. The Donkey Kong franchise was the first non-Mario IP Lego added to its series of Nintendo playsets. Released in 2023, the four Donkey Kong builds feature DK, Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, and Funky Kong. Unfortunately, these builds were officially retired late last year and disappeared from nearly all storefronts. But a couple months back, Amazon restocked all four retired Donkey Kong Lego sets, including the hard-to-find Donkey Kong Tree House<\/a><\/strong>. At this point, you could consider these builds exclusive to Amazon.<\/p>\n

Retired Lego Donkey Kong and Super Mario Playsets at Amazon<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Here’s the list of retired Donkey Kong Lego sets. We also included a trio of newly retired Super Mario playsets<\/a> with discounts at Amazon.<\/p>\n

The Donkey Kong sets have sold out a couple times since they reappeared on Amazon in June, but as of August 21, all four are in stock for retail price or less. Amazon also has a deal on Donkey Kong’s Lego Mario Kart set<\/a>, the only DK playset in print today. The 387-piece Donkey Kong and DK Jumbo Lego set<\/a><\/strong> is on sale for $29.49 (was $35).<\/p>\n

All five Donkey Kong Lego sets are listed below alongside deals on the Interactive Lego Super Mario Starter Sets<\/a>. Each set includes an electronic figure that interacts with the Action Tags included in the Donkey Kong playsets. If you tap an Action Tag with Mario, Luigi, or Peach, you’ll hear Donkey Kong sound effects and in-game music. The figures also react visually thanks to built-in screens for eyes and a display on their chests.<\/p>\n

Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set lets you build the iconic treehouse that DK calls home. The 555-piece set isn’t a “level” with enemies like some other Lego Super Mario sets, though Cranky Kong will give Lego Mario, Luigi, or Peach coins. Any of the three interactive Lego Super Mario figures can attach to Donkey Kong’s back. Cranky Kong is also included in this set, along with a hammock, conga drums, palm trees, a Bowser flag, and a Warp Pipe.<\/p>\n

Of the four Donkey Kong Lego sets that released in August 2023, Donkey Kong’s Tree House has been the hardest to find since Lego retired it. As mentioned, DK’s playset had been sold out for most of 2025 and isn’t available at other retailers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam<\/a> is a stage for live music. Your Lego Mario figure can accompany Dixie, who is shredding on an electric guitar. Squawks is behind the mic, and we’d like to imagine Squawks is parroting a track sung by young Pauline from Donkey Kong Bananza.<\/p>\n

Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam is 174 pieces and is up for grabs for $18.89 at Amazon. This set is sold out at all other retailers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Mine cart levels have always been some of the most challenging and dynamic course types in the Donkey Kong Country series, so this was always a fitting choice for a DK Lego set.<\/p>\n

Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride nods back to Mole Miner Max, a boss fight from Donkey Kong Country Returns. It’s the largest Donkey Kong-themed set, clocking in at 1,157 pieces. The kit comes with buildable figures of Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Mole Miner, and Chomps.<\/p>\n

In terms of the play aspect here, the mine cart will interact with Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures. Your job is fix the track and beat the Mole Miner at the end. In addition to the mine cart and rail system, you can build Funky Kong’s airplane, which is complete with the balloons he sells in the game and a barrel.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Rambi the Rhino is a 106-piece set that features the beloved longtime character and a few stackable rocks to break–as long as DK doesn’t smash through them first. You can place the Donkey Kong and other Kong Lego figures on his back, but like most Lego Super Mario sets, Rambi was designed with Mario\/Luigi\/Peach figures in mind.<\/p>\n

When you tap one of the figures against Rambi’s back, the figure’s speaker will play Donkey Kong Country music. Stomping and charging sound effects are made while riding around.<\/p>\n

Rambi the Rhino is available for $11 at Amazon. This set is sold out at all other retailers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo is the only one of the bunch that’s not retired, and that’s because it’s part of the Lego Mario Kart line that launched at the beginning of 2025. The 387-piece build features a barrel-inspired kart that can fling red and green shells at a target that’s topped with a banana peel. Perhaps most importantly, it comes with a buildable Donkey Kong figure that’s very similar to the one included with the Tree House.<\/p>\n

Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo<\/a> is on sale for $29.49 at Amazon, which matches its all-time low price.<\/p>\n

Rather fittingly, this is the largest figure\/kart combo in the lineup of playsets–not including the Mario & Standard Kart display model<\/a> for adults that launched in May on the Lego Store and releases July 1 at major retailers<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Donkey Kong Amiibo Figures<\/h2>\n

Nintendo released its first new Donkey Kong Amiibo figure in years alongside Bananza last month. The Donkey Kong and Pauline Amiibo<\/a> is available for $30 at Amazon. Amiibo collectors can also preorder the upcoming reprint of King K. Rool’s Amiibo<\/a> for $20 at Best Buy.<\/p>\n
