Nintendo has officially raised prices<\/a> on a handful of Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, including pairs of Joy-Con 2 Controllers. Nintendo added five bucks to the MSRP on August 3, which means an extra set of Joy-Con 2 will cost you $100 instead of $95 going forward. Ironically, on the same day the price increases were announced (August 1), Target<\/a> and Amazon<\/a> shifted the price five bucks in the opposite direction. At the moment, you can still get a pair of Joy-Con 2 for $90 at both retailers.<\/p>\n

Nintendo also added $5 to the Switch 2 Pro Controller’s MSRP, bumping it from $85 to $90. Amazon sold out<\/a> of its inventory earlier today (August 3), but select retailers still have it for the old price. Walmart actually has the Pro 2 Controller for $84<\/a>, but the price could change any minute now.<\/p>\n\n

Joy-Con 2 Controllers & Accessories<\/h2>\n

Joy-Con 2 Straps, which include wrist straps and a red\/blue base for mouse mode, increased from $14 to $15. Amazon, once again, moved the price in the opposite direction, as you can get Joy-Con 2 Straps for $13<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The two main Joy-Con 2 attachments weren’t impacted by the price changes. The Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip<\/a> with built-in back buttons remains $40, and the Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set<\/a> for Mario Kart World is still only $25.<\/p>\n

Take a closer look at the left and right Joy-Con 2 Controllers and the attachable accessories you can buy separately for docked mode.<\/p>\n

Though the Joy-Con 2 Controllers are slightly larger than the original model, they share the same general design. Motion controls, (improved) HD Rumble, NFC support for Amiibo–these core features return along with a couple of new additions. Mouse mode, the novel new feature that lets you turn the controllers on their sides and scroll like a computer mouse, works quite well with compatible games. The right Joy-Con 2 Controller has the new C button to access the Switch 2’s GameChat feature.<\/p>\n

Quality-of-life improvements include larger bumpers that improve playability with single Joy-Con controls and a magnetic connection system.<\/p>\n

The set includes left and right Joy-Con 2 Controllers and a pair of wrist straps that are also used for mouse mode.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Alternatively, you can buy single Joy-Con 2 Controllers for $55 each. The left Joy-Con 2 comes with a light blue wrist strip. Single Joy-Con prices are unchanged.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

The right Joy-Con 2 has the GameChat button, so if you only want one extra Joy-Con 2, it probably makes the most sense to pick this one, especially if you’re interested in GameChat. It comes with a light red wrist strap.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

As mentioned, the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip has the added bonus of two remappable back buttons.
