Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Xbox\u2019s flagship series, Halo<\/em><\/a><\/span>, might be making the leap to PlayStation in the near future. There have also been rumors about a remake of the OG game. Now, Halo Studios, formerly 343 Industries, has stepped forward to explain that it will provide actual information later this year. <\/p>\n

Long-Lost Halo Demo Comes To Life<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier this month<\/a><\/span>, Xbox boss Phil Spencer ended the company\u2019s Summer Showcase with a tease for what\u2019s coming in 2026, promising a new Fable<\/em>, a new Gears of War<\/em>, the next Forza<\/em>, and hinting at Halo<\/em> by saying: \u201cand the return of a classic that\u2019s been with us since the beginning.\u201d This followed reports that Halo<\/em> would leap to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.<\/a><\/span> Gears of War<\/em> is making that leap later this year, so it seems plausible Halo might do the same. The rumors and speculation have grown so large that Halo Studios has directly addressed them in a new blog post. <\/p>\n

On June 30, Halo Studios Esports Lead Tahir \u201cTashi\u201d Hasandjekic shared a blog post<\/a><\/span> about the Halo <\/em>World Championship happening in October and how people can buy tickets for the event. But the blog post also addressed all the speculation about Halo<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past few weeks, there\u2019s been a fair amount of speculation about when and where more details might emerge about any of the multiple projects Halo Studios is actively working on,\u201d said Tashi. \u201cWe don\u2019t usually comment on such matters, but this time we want to enter the chat and share a little more perspective for Halo <\/em>fans who might be on the fence about whether to attend this year\u2019s event.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tashi explained that last October<\/a><\/span>, during Halo <\/em>WC, the studio unveiled \u201cA New Dawn,\u201d a short video revealing the news that 343 was becoming Halo Studios and shifting to Unreal Engine. He further explained that \u201cA New Dawn\u201d was \u201cjust the beginning\u201d and that at this year\u2019s Halo <\/em>WC, the team \u201clook(s) forward to continuing the conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSpeculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won\u2019t want to miss this year\u2019s Halo <\/em>World Championship,\u201d said Tashi. \u201cWe really hope you\u2019ll join us in Seattle this October!\u201d<\/p>\n

So Halo <\/em>might be coming to PS5. There might be a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved<\/em> happening. There might be more to share beyond that. But we have to wait until October to find out. Ironically Tashi\u2019s post, meant to address speculation, will likely lead to even more <\/em>speculation <\/em>and rumors appearing online. October can\u2019t come soon enough. <\/p>\n
