{"id":96396,"date":"2025-06-29T05:17:54","date_gmt":"2025-06-29T05:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/neclink.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/meta-reportedly-hires-four-more-researchers-from-openai\/"},"modified":"2025-06-29T05:17:54","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T05:17:54","slug":"meta-reportedly-hires-four-more-researchers-from-openai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neclink.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/meta-reportedly-hires-four-more-researchers-from-openai\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta reportedly hires four more researchers from OpenAI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looks like Meta isn\u2019t done poaching talent from OpenAI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this week, TechCrunch reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/26\/meta-hires-key-openai-researcher-to-work-on-ai-reasoning-models\/\">Meta had hired influential OpenAI researcher Trapit Bansal<\/a>, and <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/tech\/ai\/meta-poaches-three-openai-researchers-eb55eea9?st=8QcsTj&amp;reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink\">according to The Wall Street Journal<\/a>, it also hired three other researchers from the company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now The Information is reporting <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/meta-hires-four-openai-researchers\">four more Meta hires from OpenAI<\/a>: Researchers Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, and Hongyu Ren.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This hiring spree comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/05\/meta-releases-llama-4-a-new-crop-of-flagship-ai-models\/\">the April launch of Meta\u2019s Llama 4 AI models<\/a>, which reportedly did not perform as well as CEO Mark Zuckerberg had hoped. (The company was also criticized over <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/11\/metas-vanilla-maverick-ai-model-ranks-below-rivals-on-a-popular-chat-benchmark\/\">the version of Llama that it used for a popular benchmark<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s been some back-and-forth between the two companies, with OpenAI CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/17\/sam-altman-says-meta-tried-and-failed-to-poach-openais-talent-with-100m-offers\/\">Sam Altman suggesting<\/a> that Meta was offering \u201c$100 million signing bonuses\u201d while adding that \u201cso far, none of our best people\u201d have left.
