“Boston Rob” Mariano<\/strong><\/a>‘s family vacation in Mexico has hit a snag.<\/p>\n The Survivor<\/em> alum shared on June 16 that his and wife Amber Mariano<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a014-year-old daughter Carina<\/strong> “got poked by this plant yesterday on the golf course…long story short we ended up in the hospital last night.”<\/p>\n “She had a pretty severe reaction to the plant and was in a lot of pain,” he recounted on Instagram Stories. “The doctors did an ultrasound to look for the spine, but instead found an abundance of fluid inside her knee near where the plant pricked her and prescribed some antibiotics and anti-inflammatories.”<\/p>\n Fortunately for Rob\u2014who is also dad to Lucia<\/strong>, 15, Isabetta<\/strong>, 13, and Adelina<\/strong>, 10, with Amber\u2014Carina started feeling “much better” after receiving treatment.<\/p>\n Sharing a picture of the plant, the 49-year-old added, “We have identified the culprit El Datilillo, ‘The Spanish Dagger.'”<\/p>\n The family getaway comes nearly one month after Carina graduated from middle school<\/a>. At the time, Rob joked that he “cried like a baby” at the teen’s academic achievement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
