As far as reconciliation, Aaron suggested he and his family haven\u2019t reached the end zone yet. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s definitely possible,\u201d he told Ian. \u201cIt\u2019s just timing, just timing. Every time I think it\u2019s getting closer, some weird things happen. But I would like a relationship with my dad for sure.\u201d <\/p>\n
The father-son duo had a run-in<\/a> not too long ago. According to the book, Aaron spotted Ed at the 2023 American Century Championship\u2014where the NFL star was playing golf and his dad had gotten a ticket\u2014and went up to him. <\/p>\n \u201cI just thought, \u2018What\u2019s best in this moment, and what kind of gift could I give him?\u2019\u201d Aaron added. \u201cBecause I do love him. I don\u2019t have animosity toward him, even with all the stuff that\u2019s been said and done.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Per the book, the family members hugged and said \u201cI love you,\u201d with it being the first time they spoke in years. However, Ian noted there was no follow-up communication (though he wrote Ed and Darla attended Aaron\u2019s first game with the Jets, where he tore his Achilles tendon<\/a> in a season-ending injury).<\/p>\n Still, the parents expressed their hope for the future.<\/p>\n \u201cYes, we\u2019re all about forgiving and forgetting,\u201d Darla told Ian. \u201cWe would be so happy to move on\u2026.Maybe we don\u2019t see him all the time. We\u2019re OK with however it\u2019s framed. The new relationship needs to start and it just feels weird that we can\u2019t communicate even big-life things with him.\u201d<\/p>\n Added Ed, “We have unconditional love for him. No matter what happened, we would just like the relationship.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
