Last week, I went to Paris<\/a> for a mix of work and pleasure, and the city looked more gorgeous than ever! Here are a few photos, if you\u2019d like to see\u2026<\/p>\n

In the past, I\u2019ve mostly visited Paris<\/a> in the winter, so it was a treat to spend time there in the springtime. The parks exploded with flowers, and babies toddled around in the grass.<\/p>\n

A few friends were able to join, too, which was really fun.<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/p>\n

We rented a family\u2019s home<\/a> in the 11th arrondissement, a beautiful neighborhood that feels relaxed and residential.<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

Guess Who<\/a>, but make it French!<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

Each morning started at a caf\u00e9, like Boot Caf\u00e9<\/a> in the Marais.<\/p>\n

How cute are their stackable circus stools<\/a>?<\/p>\n

We stopped for coffee so many times on the trip that it became a running joke. We\u2019d walk a few blocks, get a coffee, walk a few more blocks, then sit down at a caf\u00e9\u2026 <\/p>\n

Another morning, we ventured to the 7th arrondissement, near the Eiffel Tower and the Rodin Museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For breakfast, I was thrilled to go to the apartment of Morgane Sezalory<\/a>, Sezane\u2019s<\/a> founder and creative director, who I\u2019ve known for years. Sitting in her kitchen, we talked about so many things \u2014 family, divorce, work, love, aging, kids, nothing felt off the table. She was turning 40 in a few days, so we talked bout the panic<\/a> that comes before it and the calm that comes after, haha.<\/p>\n

She set out a plate of berries, and we were soon joined by her very fluffy cat.<\/p>\n

\"Sezane<\/p>\n

Afterward, feeling inspired, I wandered over to the nearby S\u00e9zane store<\/a>, full of embroidered dresses, wide-leg jeans\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and these gorgeous shoes<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

Other shops we loved were Merci<\/a> (a three-story concept shop), Bonton<\/a> (children\u2019s clothes and toys), and M\u00e9lodie Graphiques<\/a> (a stationery store).<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a> <\/p>\n

Another afternoon, we headed to the David Hockey exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton<\/a>. He\u2019s 87 years old and still wears his signature round glasses.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/p>\n

We wandered through room after room filled with paintings \u2014 I kept walking into a new space and saying \u201cWOW!\u201d out loud without even realizing it. The saturated colors! The English countryside! The thousand-yard stares!<\/p>\n

One of my favorite paintings took up an entire wall \u2014\u00a0above is just a small part \u2014\u00a0and featured people at an art exhibit. I\u2019m not a huge dog person, but that bulldog stole my heart.<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

We also had a magical lunch at Mokonuts<\/a>, which may be the best restaurant in Paris (bold statement, I know!). <\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Owned by a husband and wife \u2014 Moko Hirayama and Omar Koreitem \u2014 the tiny gem is open only for lunch, and the small menu changes daily. We devoured labneh with fluffy pita, crunchy asparagus, grilled squid, and pork atop bursting green peas. [Update from a reader named Morgan: Mokonuts is publishing a cookbook<\/a> in September!]<\/em><\/p>\n

It was one of those long leisurely meals where the conversation meandered from parenting preteens to business bookkeeping to whether people talk dirty in bed, haha. Meanwhile, between bites, we all kept exclaiming, \u201cThis is the most delicious meal I\u2019ve ever had,\u201d and \u201cOmg is this the best restaurant in Paris? \u2026the world?\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally, on our last night, we just stayed home. (Sometimes, while traveling, it\u2019s so nice to do nothing<\/a>, don\u2019t you think?) We grazed on cheese and olives and chips and chatted with the windows open. Then we watched a couple episodes of The Four Seasons<\/a>, as one does.<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/a><\/p>\n

The whole trip felt so good. Although I came back to grumpy boys (\u201cNever leave again!\u201d) and a week of jetlag (\u201cIt\u2019s 3 a.m. in Paris right now!\u201d), my heart felt full and buzzy with female friendship and wanderlust.
