Similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/01\/23\/openai-launches-operator-an-ai-agent-that-performs-tasks-autonomously\/\">OpenAI\u2019s Operator<\/a>, you can prompt Open Computer Agent to complete a task \u2014 say, \u201cUse Google Maps to find the Hugging Face HQ in Paris\u201d \u2014 and sit back as the agent opens the necessary programs and figures out the required steps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open Computer Agent can handle simple requests well enough. But more complicated ones, like searching for flights, tripped it up in TechCrunch\u2019s testing. Open Computer Agent also often runs into CAPTCHA tests that it\u2019s unable to solve. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll also have to wait in a virtual queue to use Open Computer Agent \u2014 a queue seconds to minutes long, depending on demand.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re launching Computer Use in smolagents! \ud83e\udd73<\/p>\n<p>-&gt; As vision models become more capable, they become able to power complex agentic workflows.
