His version of the bill mirrors Lummis\u2019 Senate proposal and signals growing alignment between chambers on Bitcoin policy. \u201cAmericans deserve a fiscal and monetary foundation built on assets that represent discipline, structure, and confidence,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepNickBegich\/status\/1918349198933803317\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he tweeted<\/a> today. \u201cBitcoin delivers on all three, and I am proud to lead this effort in the House with The BITCOIN Act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Trump has <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/president-trump-executive-director-says-u-s-could-use-tariff-revenue-to-build-strategic-bitcoin-reserve\">already signed<\/a> an executive order earlier this year creating a federal Bitcoin reserve, using BTC seized through forfeitures to establish an estimated 200,000 BTC stockpile\u2014costing taxpayers nothing. Executive Director Bo Hines confirmed the reserve will add to the reserve using \u201cbudget neutral ways that don\u2019t cost the taxpayer a dime,\u201d potentially including tariff revenue.<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/the-united-states-officially-establishes-a-strategic-bitcoin-reserve\">Trump\u2019s executive order<\/a> marks the U.S. as the world\u2019s largest sovereign Bitcoin holder, it could be overturned by future administrations. That\u2019s why Lummis insists legislation\u2014not just executive action\u2014is essential to locking in a long-term national Bitcoin strategy. Lummis\u2019 BITCOIN Act would cement the program into law and ensure the country accumulates far more.<\/p>\n<p>Asset manager VanEck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaneck.com\/us\/en\/us-bitcoin-strategic-reserve-calculator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimates<\/a> that if the U.S. follows this roadmap, the Bitcoin reserve could offset up to $21 trillion of national debt by 2049.<\/p>\n<p>Lummis closed with a warning about the dollar\u2019s fate. \u201cIt didn\u2019t vanish.
