Warning: This article contains major spoilers for <\/span><\/em>9-1-1<\/span>\u2019s April 17 episode \u201cLab Rats.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s time for one character to hang up their uniform.<\/span><\/p>\n After eight seasons as <\/span>9-1-1<\/span><\/em><\/a>\u2019s leading man, <\/span>Peter Krause<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s character Captain Bobby Nash was killed off during the procedural series\u2019 April 17 episode in a shocking twist to fans.<\/span><\/p>\n In the latest episode of the ABC show, Nash became infected with a deadly virus and, in the end, sacrificed his life by giving the only vial of vaccine available to <\/span>Kenneth Choi<\/strong>\u2019s character Chimney. In the fire captain\u2019s final moments before his death, he shared an emotional goodbye with his wife, police sergeant Athena Grant-Nash (<\/span>Angela Bassett<\/strong><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Following the episode, Krause responded to fans\u2019 shock and heartbreak over his character\u2019s tragic end.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve heard that many fans are upset by this loss and they have a right to be. It is a loss,\u201d he told <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/em><\/a> in a statement published April 17. \u201cThat said, it was more than a bold creative choice on a bold show.
