\u201cI was like, ‘What am I going to wear?'” Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a> told Elle<\/em><\/a> ahead of her Blue Origin flight with King, Lauren S<\/strong>\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, Aisha Bowe<\/strong>, Amanda Nguyen<\/strong>, and Kerianne Flynn<\/strong>.\u00a0\u201cBut seriously, I have wanted to go to space for almost 20 years. I was investigating all of the possible commercial options. Even when Blue Origin was first talking about commercial travel to space, I was like, \u2018Sign me up! I\u2019m first in line.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n MTV News did report in 2010 that Perry had purchased a $200,000 ticket to board a Virgin Galactic suborbital flight, when the company finally got one off the ground.<\/p>\n “I’m so into extraterrestrial stuff,\u201d the “E.T.” singer told the outlet around that time. \u201cIt’s very difficult for me to look up into the sky in the middle of the night and not think that our planet is one of\u2026a bajillion. It’s really, really small. And Russell and I are interested in anything extraterrestrial. I mean, we\u2019re going to space.\u201d (She and then-husband Russell Brand<\/strong> split up in 2011<\/a>.)<\/p>\n As her 2025 Blue Origin trip approached, the 40-year-old told Elle<\/em>, \u201cI don\u2019t have any time to be nervous; I ain\u2019t got time to be worried. I\u2019m going to feel something when they go, \u201810, 9, 8, 7,\u2026\u2019 but until then we\u2019ve got stuff to do. We\u2019ve got business to handle.\u201d<\/p>\n But best of all, Perry quipped, \u201cSpace is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the \u2018ass\u2019 in astronaut.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
