Samsung has been using under-display cameras for a few generations of its Galaxy Z Fold line, placed under the folding screen, and let’s just say these cameras aren’t very good.<\/p>\n

Thus, you may be relieved to know that the Galaxy S26 Ultra<\/a> won’t have such a camera, instead opting for the tried and tested hole-punch setup. This is according to a new rumor from Korea which contradicts a previous rumor stating the contrary<\/a> back in February.<\/p>\n

Samsung did allegedly intend to use an under-display camera in the S26 Ultra to give that seamless all-screen look, but encountered insurmountable issues with the technology, both relating to cost and other problems – which aren’t mentioned, but we assume the quality is one of these for sure.<\/p>\n

Samsung is now expected to postpone carrying over this tech to its flagship slab-style smartphone line, hopefully until such a time when under-display cameras can actually match normal cameras in terms of quality.<\/p>\n
