Days after <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/gaming\/nintendo\/nintendo-delays-switch-2-us-pre-orders-following-trump-tariffs-150747208.html\">Nintendo paused Switch 2 pre-orders<\/a>, <em>The Verge<\/em> reported that Razer has paused direct sales of devices like the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/computing\/laptops\/razers-new-blade-16-laptop-is-its-thinnest-model-yet-140032671.html\">Blade 16 gaming laptop<\/a> in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The Blade 16&#8217;s product <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1\" class=\"no-affiliate-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.razer.com\/gaming-laptops\/razer-blade-16\">page<\/a>, which recently included a pre-order link, now only offers a measly &#8220;Notify me&#8221; button. In addition, its configurator page, which allowed you to choose a graphics card, processor and other specs as recently as a few days ago, now draws a 404 error. The levies are scheduled to kick in at 12:01AM ET tonight, dramatically affecting companies that build products in or source parts from countries like China and Taiwan. Tariffs are a tax on imported foreign goods, and businesses often pass the higher cost to consumers. Economists have <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:6;pos:1\" class=\"no-affiliate-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americanprogress.org\/article\/examples-of-potential-consumer-price-hikes-under-trumps-tariffs\/\">estimated<\/a> that consumers will pay an extra $3,800 annually due to Trump&#8217;s policy \u2014&nbsp;and that was before Trump announced additional tariffs on China, <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:7;pos:1\" class=\"no-affiliate-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/china-104-tariff-threat-retaliatory\/\">totaling<\/a> a staggering 104 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Razer&#8217;s pause follows the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/gaming\/nintendo\/nintendo-delays-switch-2-us-pre-orders-following-trump-tariffs-150747208.html\">halting of Switch 2 US pre-orders<\/a> as Nintendo gauges the situation and ponders its next move. Similarly, Framework <a data-i13n=\"cpos:9;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/computing\/framework-pauses-some-us-laptop-sales-due-to-tariffs-221115971.html\">stopped selling some of its laptops<\/a> in the US, and <em>Reuters<\/em> reported on Tuesday that memory chipmaker Micron <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:10;pos:1\" class=\"no-affiliate-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/micron-impose-tariff-related-surcharge-some-products-april-9-sources-say-2025-04-08\/\">plans<\/a> to add a surcharge to some products.
