In the latest hour of Tracker<\/a>, Colter reunited with some former associates on a case that tried so hard to be unpredictable but failed at every turn.<\/p>\n

Tracker Season 2 Episode 15 had an interesting premise, with a fugitive on the run and a corrections officer as a hostage. Where were they going? What was the fugitive poised to do? What was the twist?<\/p>\n

But as the hour droned on, the story heading exactly where you thought it would be was clear.<\/p>\n

Any time Tracker starts with a super in-depth \u2018and that\u2019s what you missed on Glee<\/a>\u2018 type of opening, you know you\u2019re about to enter an hour in which you\u2019ll need to remember many key moments from past episodes.<\/p>\n

Since this series began, Colter has teamed up with many people, and some have stood out more than others.<\/p>\n

He met Detective Brock during Tracker Season 1 Episode 9<\/a>, and the two worked well together. Brock was a law enforcement officer who allowed Colter to help, which isn\u2019t always the case, and the two formed a nice partnership that helped them find a missing girl.<\/p>\n

Considering things worked so well before, it wasn\u2019t surprising that she would call him up when her niece went missing, especially since Brock felt the pressure and blamed herself for Rachel\u2019s predicament.<\/p>\n

Tracker only shows us what they want us to see when they introduce the kidnapping or whatever causes the person Colter\u2019s searching for to go missing. And that\u2019s for obvious reasons, right?<\/p>\n

The whole point of the ensuing episode is to figure out what the hell happened alongside Colter, but how things cut off right when Rachel got out of the truck was suspect at best.<\/p>\n

You couple that with everything Brock was saying about Rachel having it tough growing up. As badly as you wanted to believe that she had turned things around as Brock insisted, the writing seemed to be on the wall the more information was discovered.<\/p>\n

For starters, this was a very elaborate situation, from Justine\u2019s ability to free herself to her seemingly dragging Rachel around with her to an underground bunker and then to a gas station.<\/p>\n

Yes, they did have the help of a getaway driver, but there was something fishy about the whole situation as each new piece of information dropped.<\/p>\n

Considering that this all stemmed from the prison, there would be answers within those walls, and I loved that Colter thought for a few moments he would waltz into the prison and get to the bottom of everything!<\/p>\n

And how exactly was he going to do that? There was no way that would work, but I must admit, it would have been funny to see him try.<\/p>\n

Deciding to send someone to the prison was an ill-advised plan because whoever was sent in was going in blind, and it wasn\u2019t as if they were infiltrating a crooked spa or something laundering money.<\/p>\n

They were going into a dangerous place, and they had one singular guard who knew to protect them if things went south.<\/p>\n

Listen, I\u2019ve been on the record stating that I don\u2019t believe Billie and Colter<\/a> should team up permanently because I\u2019m much more interested in their rivalry, and I still stand by that after this hour.<\/p>\n

But she was the right call for this situation, if only because she\u2019s a quick thinker who can handle herself. Every time we\u2019ve seen Billie, they\u2019ve proven her to be highly intelligent and capable of protecting herself.<\/p>\n

Even so, going undercover in a prison on short notice with very little information isn\u2019t something everyone could do.<\/p>\n

Reenie and Billie\u2019s meeting for the first time under those circumstances was perfect because they got to size each other up in the most complicated situation.<\/p>\n

Billie is a badass, and so is Reenie. It\u2019s easy to see that Colter has a type: strong-willed women who don\u2019t bend to Colter\u2019s will.<\/p>\n

The whole prison plot wasn\u2019t all that necessary in the end.<\/p>\n

Yes, Billie got herself in front of Mama Roach to find out that Justine\u2019s stepmom had the money, and that\u2019s what everything was about. Still, by the time she found that information, Colter and Brock were already onto Rachel and had the information about the Williams group.<\/p>\n

It would not have taken them long to figure things out, but Billie\u2019s intel saved them a few minutes, I guess.<\/p>\n

Brock\u2019s reluctance to see the worst in her niece wasn\u2019t born from ignorance but from a place where she tried to see the good in people instead of always seeing the worst, and that\u2019s the kind of detective you want in the world.<\/p>\n

She wanted to save her niece, of course, but when it became apparent that Rachel wasn\u2019t in danger the way she thought, I never thought for a minute that she was going to help Rachel escape or do anything other than bring her niece to justice, no matter how much it hurt her.<\/p>\n

I loved the parallels they kept making to this case and Colter\u2019s personal life, which, as we know, the series has always framed as a sheltered upbringing filled with lies.<\/p>\n

It could have hardened Colter as Rachel\u2019s upbringing did to her, but instead, he chose to take the valuable lessons he learned and turn them into something positive when he could have easily used his skills to do not-so-positive things.<\/p>\n

Colter\u2019s ability to solve a case in a single day is always impressive. Rachel and Justine\u2019s staying fairly local in a stolen vehicle that no one seen, when you\u2019d think the whole of that city and surrounding areas would have police checks or SOMETHING was television magic striking again.<\/p>\n

Justine was a willing participant, but she also seemed to have a conscience, unlike Rachel, who was kind of evil.<\/p>\n

The way she threatened Mama Roach, who clearly had more cache at that prison than Rachel ever did, felt a bit like desperation, as she felt the whole planning was slipping through her fingers.<\/p>\n

Brock having to point a gun at her niece, someone she\u2019d tried to help, had to be such an awful feeling, and I was so glad that scene didn\u2019t devolve into actual gunfire because it would have been tough for Brock to come back from that.<\/p>\n

The Brock and Colter team-up was successful yet again, but we have many other towns and cities in the continental United States to hit, so let\u2019s maybe put a pin in Aurora, Vermont, for now.<\/p>\n

The hour was always going to end with Colter and Billie in the same place, and it was not at all shocking that the two ended up in bed together.<\/p>\n

Justin Hartley<\/a> and Sofia Pernas obviously have a ton of chemistry, and there\u2019s an attraction and tension between Colter and Billie built up over years of distrust but mutual respect.<\/p>\n

But Billie had every right to be upset with Colter, even if, ultimately, she chose to go undercover. Colter didn\u2019t force her into the situation.<\/p>\n

Now that the two have given in to some of that tension, what\u2019s next?<\/p>\n

My money is on Colter waking up the next day, and Billie will have left, but will this open the door for them to have something in the future? Or was this one of those things they will act like never happened when they inevitably run into each other on another case this season or next?<\/p>\n
