The change should give video creators on Bluesky much more flexibility in what they can post. It will also likely be appreciated by fans <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/apps\/flashes-an-instagram-alternative-based-on-bluesky-is-available-for-iphones-now-205946754.html\"><\/a>, the new Bluesky-based photo and video app.<\/p>\n<p>The update also brings some much needed inbox-management tools to Bluesky DMs, with the addition of a new \u201crequests\u201d section for incoming messages from users you don\u2019t know. You\u2019ll also now be able to reject incoming chats, which should help reduce the number of <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/safety.bsky.app\/post\/3ljk4lwzsac2q\"><\/a> that have been flooding many users\u2019 inboxes in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"end-legacy-contents\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The latest Bluesky update rolled out as CEO Jay Graber appeared onstage at SXSW for a keynote about the growing decentralized social media platform, which has just under 33 million users. There&#039;s much less tolerance in the ecosystem for a very heavy-handed change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also opened up about how Bluesky is thinking about its business model and generative AI. On the business side, she <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/social-media\/blueskys-upcoming-premium-plan-wont-give-paid-users-special-treatment-193800247.html\"><\/a> said the company is \u201cexploring subscriptions\u201d as well as paid \u201cdeveloper services\u201d for those who build experiences on top of Bluesky.
