Shawn Ashmore<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>is honoring his ex.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>X-Men <\/span><\/em>alum, who dated <\/span>Michelle Trachtenberg<\/strong><\/a> from 2004 to 2006, shared a tribute to the late actress following news of <\/span>her death<\/span><\/a> Feb. 26 at the age of 39.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIncredibly sad to hear about Michelle\u2019s passing,\u201d Shawn, 45, wrote on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>, alongside a red carpet photo of the pair. \u201cShe was an incredible person and I will always remember the years we spent together fondly. She was loving, quirky and would never pass up a <\/span>law and order SVU<\/span><\/em> marathon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He also acknowledged her family, adding, \u201cMy condolences to her mother <\/span>Lana<\/strong> and sister <\/span>Irene<\/strong>! This is an incredible loss!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Michelle and Shawn dated in the early aughts after she used her humor and confidence to woo him at a 2004 Oscars party.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWell, I put out an ad in the classifieds: \u2018Wanted, superhero. I’m a damsel in distress,\u2019\u201d she quipped in a 2005 interview with <\/span>BlackFilm.com<\/span><\/em><\/a>. \u201cNo, we just met. He hates anything publicity [and] we met at an Oscar party and he was just like Mr. Grumpy unhappy to be out in public and I totally approached him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Inspector Gadget <\/span><\/em>star continued, \u201cI was the forward one.
