Google has quietly revealed the pricing of Veo 2, the video-generating AI model that it unveiled in December<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the company\u2019s pricing page<\/a>, using Veo 2 will cost 50 cents per second of video, which adds up to $30 per minute or $1,800 per hour. Google DeepMind researcher Jon Barron contrasted<\/a> this pricing with the blockbuster Marvel movie \u201cAvengers: Endgame,\u201d which had a reported production budget<\/a> of $356 million \u2014 or around $32,000 per second.<\/p>\n

Of course, customers aren\u2019t necessarily going to use every second of Veo-generated video that they pay for, nor is Veo 2 likely generate three-hour \u201cAvengers\u201d epics anytime soon (Google\u2019s announcement highlighted Veo 2\u2019s ability to create clips that are two minutes or more).<\/p>\n

Another price to compare: OpenAI recently made its Sora video generation model available to subscribers<\/a> paying $200 a month for a ChatGPT Pro subscription.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
