Doc Keeps Bringing All the Emotions When Secrets Are Revealed\u00a0<\/h2>\n

In every episode, we learn something completely new about Amy and her life before or how her behavior and actions have deeply affected those around her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the most emotional hours of the series to date was Doc Season 1 Episode 4<\/a>, which saw the truth about how Danny died unfolding via flashbacks and a devastating admission by Michael.\u00a0<\/p>\n

My heart ached for this man as he recalled the day their son died in front of him, and he did all he could to save him, to no avail.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Worse yet, Michael\u2019s testiness and anxiety over Amy learning the truth went back to his fear that he\u2019d have to relive the past eight years all over again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Amy blamed Michael for Danny\u2019s death despite it being something that was out of his control. Anyone familiar with grief knows how redirecting one\u2019s pain to others is a common development.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Michael seemed to take the brunt of Amy\u2019s anger and pain, and she doled out the rest to those around her. It\u2019s no wonder their marriage collapsed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Danny\u2019s death and what happened that day was one of the season\u2019s biggest mysteries thus far, so having that tidbit of information helps us make sense of these characters more than ever before.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Will Jake Spill the Beans to Amy About Their Romance?<\/h2>\n

Of course, one of the biggest revelations now is that Amy and Jake were in a romantic relationship, and no one else knew about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since Doc Season 1 Episode 1<\/a>, where we saw their endearing moments together, viewers have wondered how long it would take for this secret to come out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Any romantic can\u2019t resist the angst of this situation and the desire for something to click into place for Amy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jake hasn\u2019t told Amy the truth. Like everyone in her life, Jake seems keen on gatekeeping information from her to spare her or not overwhelm her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frankly, it\u2019s become too much, and it\u2019d be better if everyone laid all their cards on the table, and Amy could figure out what she needs and go from there.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Given that most of the interpersonal conflict within the series relies heavily on this issue, that would be too easy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been eagerly awaiting the moment when Jake and Amy\u2019s secret relationship will come to the forefront, and it seems like we\u2019ll be one step closer to that with Doc Season 1 Episode 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gina May Be the Barrier Between Jake Revealing the Truth to Amy<\/h2>\n

In the hour, titled \u201cHe Ain\u2019t Heavy,\u201d the promo teases that Amy will be speaking to her best friend Gina about her non-existent love life since her divorce from Michael.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Amy doesn\u2019t remember anything about her love life in the past eight years, and she doesn\u2019t have any evidence or indication that she\u2019s dated or had any other relationships since her divorce.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Gina has been tight-lipped about so much of Amy\u2019s life. She\u2019s supportive of Amy, but she also hasn\u2019t been too quick to give her information and often redirects her to someone else in some attempt to stay out of things.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But from what we\u2019ve gathered, Gina was clueless about Jake and Amy<\/a>\u2018s relationship with him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
