I\u2019d never seen it, so I started watching, curious to find out what all the fuss was about and<\/em> to get to know Freddie better. I wanted to know what made him laugh, what made him think.<\/p>\n

So much of what we love \u2014 the books, the movies, the sports, the hobbies, the people, the pets, the sandwiches, you name it \u2014\u00a0reflect us and our senses of humor, passions, sometimes even worldviews, don\u2019t you think? All those trappings are such a fun part of getting to know someone.<\/p>\n

For me, I\u2019m always curious to see if a guy will find When Harry Met Sally<\/a> as funny and timeless as I do,\u00a0or whether he\u2019ll dismiss a rom-com with a laugh and eye roll. The book Olive Kitteridge<\/a> brought me to my knees \u2014\u00a0the way people\u2019s lives are portrayed with such nuance and empathy, no detail too trivial \u2014 and I wonder, will a potential partner relate to that approach? Also, cheese, haha. I mean, you don\u2019t have<\/em> to eat cheese, but it helps.<\/p>\n
