This year, like last year, my goal is to take some snapshots of my female friends with their children. I LOVE seeing moms in photos<\/a>, and it\u2019s fun to try to capture sweet, unposed moments. I\u2019ve told my friend Claire that I\u2019d like to be her personal Pete Souza<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I finally watched Ali Wong\u2019s new comedy special, Single Lady<\/a>, on dating after divorce, and omg I laughed 1000 times. \u201cI\u2019ve never been pursued this much in my life,\u201d she said. \u201cBoys, they never liked me growing up. In the \u201990s, in high school, guys, they weren\u2019t into charismatic A cups.\u201d Nowadays she only dates divorced dads because \u201cI want a man that\u2019s been pre-yelled at.\u201d So good.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

My boys eat SO MUCH these days \u2014 a gallon of milk lasts only a few days \u2014\u00a0so yesterday we made Ghirardelli boxed brownies<\/a> as a snack. I\u2019d forgotten how rich, chewy, and delicious they are. Definitely the best boxed brownies on the market. (Agree\/disagree?)<\/p>\n

\"Kashmiri<\/p>\n

On the subject of readers\u2019 winter outfits<\/a>, London-based Sumaya sent in a submission today: \u201cI wait all year to wear my traditional velvet Kashmiri pheran. They used to be considered quite old-fashioned, but now they\u2019re popular with Kashmiris living in and out of Kashmir, and that makes me so happy. They\u2019re meant to be layered, so I pair mine with dresses, jeans, coats, anything. My son wears his with a hoodie and Uggs. And they all have POCKETS!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Personally, and much less colorfully, I\u2019ve been into wearing lots of soft browns. These pants<\/a> get at least three compliments every time I wear them \u2014 the fit is really great, with a slight barrel leg and utility style \u2014\u00a0and I find myself pulling them on multiple times a week. (Here\u2019s a similar pair<\/a> with more sizing.)<\/p>\n
