Once the temperature drops, I get tempted to live in sweats from December to March. So, for inspiration, I asked Cup of Jo readers on Instagram<\/a> to show us the winter outfits that make them feel good\u2026<\/p>\n

Says Mauresa (above), who lives in Central Virginia, \u201cLayers! You can pair any collared shirt with a sweater and top it off with a blazer for a polished look.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy go-to top is this cardigan<\/a>, which is so versatile that I have it in a few different colors. What\u2019s even better is that my friends have the same one. We always get a kick out of dressing alike.\u201d \u2014 Sarah, London (middle)<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve decided the key to getting through my first winter with a baby is to get outside and to wear happy clothes. Here I am wearing a floral puffer from Nuuly<\/a> (started renting clothes for maternity wear and haven\u2019t stopped!), fleece-lined leggings from Prana Vida<\/a> (recommend by a COJ commenter), a J.Crew beanie, and Sorel boots. A tip I learned from living in Minnesota for six years: buy your snow boots one size too big so you can wear extra thick socks; Darn Tough<\/a> are my favorite.\u201d \u2014 Olivia, Rockville, Maryland<\/p>\n

\u201cAtlanta winters aren\u2019t too extreme, so I can usually get away with wearing a couple layers. I gravitate towards neutral basics, like this grey B Sides sweatshirt<\/a>, a navy peacoat, and white pants from Pistola<\/a>, which have just the right amount of thickness. For a bit of sparkle, I add pearls. This outfit makes me feel confident.\u201d \u2014 Mariam, Atlanta<\/p>\n

\u201cMy favorite winter outfit is actually one garment, which makes everything look great: a 1960s houndstooth swing coat.\u201d \u2014 Alice, Melbourne, Australia<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I lived in the Bay Area, I would layer coats because it would get so<\/em> cold. Now I\u2019m in L.A.<\/a>, which is warmer, but I still love pulling on this plaid number<\/a>. The multiple colors means it matches with so many outfits!\u201d \u2014 Camille, Los Angeles<\/p>\n

\u201cMy outfit as a stay-at-home-mom of two beautiful feral babies is a cropped sweater, high rise jeans, and a pair of tennis shoes. \u201cI\u2019m an equine veterinarian that specializes in internal medicine \u2014 basically, I take care of sick horses that require advanced diagnostics or hospitalization. In the first photo, I\u2019m ready to present at a continuing education event in what (I hope) is an equestrian-chic outfit! \u201cI took my first transatlantic trip to London\u00a0this fall, and I was freaking out about packing because I didn\u2019t have any cold-weather clothes! I ended up wearing this Mango coat<\/a> and a pink scarf the entire trip.
