Wanda Dench<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>knows Thanksgiving is a time meant to be surrounded by loved ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

And although the 67-year-old\u2014who <\/span>became known online<\/span><\/a> as the \u201cThanksgiving Grandma\u201d after she invited then-stranger <\/span>Jamal Hinton<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>to her holiday dinner thinking it was her grandson\u2014lost her husband <\/span>Lonnie Dench<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>in April 2020 due to COVID-19, she is hopeful to have a special someone for next year\u2019s meal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I don’t like being alone, and I miss my husband,\u201d Wanda told <\/span>The Arizona Republic<\/span><\/em><\/a> in an interview published Nov. 26. “I wish he was still here, but that’s not reality.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Arizonan\u2014who <\/span>revealed<\/span><\/a> in October, through a post to Jamal\u2019s <\/span>X<\/span><\/a> (formerly Twitter) account, that she is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer\u2014started tuning into <\/span>The Golden Bachelor<\/span><\/em><\/a> in 2023, which inspired her to give love another chance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c[The show] gave me hope that I could start dating, and maybe find a second love,\u201d Wanda continued. \u201cAnd it would not be the same, but it would still be genuine.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
