One influencer is getting candid about her life\u00a0<\/span>offline<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n TikToker\u00a0<\/span>Averii<\/strong>, who goes by\u00a0<\/span>Slayverii<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on the platform, gave some insight to her followers about what it’s like working at Hooters as a\u00a0<\/span>transgender\u00a0<\/span>woman.<\/span><\/p>\n “Being a trans girl working at Hooters is literally the most bizarre thing in the world,” Averii said in an\u00a0<\/span>Oct. 10 TikTok<\/span><\/a>. “Like, the dichotomy of infiltrating the space of the straight, white male gaze as a trans woman is just so insane.”<\/span><\/p>\n As she explained, she’s even “had customers straight up say the most transphobic rhetoric to me, not knowing that\u00a0<\/span>I was\u00a0<\/span>trans, and I’m just like, ‘OK, period.'”<\/span><\/p>\n Averii noted that she often finds herself at a loss for words during these interactions, especially because it shows her just “how open people are with their prejudices,” adding that it feels “so insane.”<\/span><\/p>\n “I don’t know,” she said, “I’ll never get used to it, ever, ever.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
