The tools \u2014 Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock \u2014 are aimed at giving users a way to quickly lock down their devices if they\u2019ve been swiped, so thieves can\u2019t access any sensitive information. Android reporter <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@mishaal_rahman\/post\/DAvsUr-vliG?xmt=AQGzBhUX9k3B7KBxsuyG3h0vSEW0gqNaMm8vdt4U8MEcXA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Mishaal Rahman;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> shared on social media that the first two tools had popped up on a Xiaomi 14T Pro, and said some Pixel users have started seeing Remote Lock.<\/p>\n<p>Theft Detection Lock is triggered by the literal act of snatching. The company said in May that the feature \u201cuses Google AI to sense if someone snatches your phone from your hand and tries to run, bike or drive away.\u201d In such a scenario, it\u2019ll lock the phone\u2019s screen.<\/p>\n<p>Offline Device Lock, on the other hand, can automatically lock the screen after a thief has disconnected the phone from the internet. You can already remotely lock your phone with Google\u2019s Find My Device, but the third feature, Remote Lock, lets you do so without having to scramble to figure out your Google account password.
