I beg to differ.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Trump is providing lip service to Bitcoiners, which is more than we can say of Kamala Harris. The fact that he spoke at the Bitcoin conference is certainly interesting, and at least indicates that he\u2019s aware of the \u201ccrypto voter\u201d as a potential voting block. And yes, Trump did show up at PubKey, which was a fun little stunt\u2014 though he apparently wasn\u2019t even able to make the payment himself.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s blatantly obvious he just wants your money and your vote. Of course, the same can be said for most politicians, but if anything, Trump is a more extreme example of this. He\u2019ll basically scam you for it if he must, whether it\u2019s through these\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/collecttrumpcards.com\/\">ridiculous NFTs<\/a>, or with whatever\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldlibertyfinancial.com\/\">his new shitcoin project<\/a> is supposed to be.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not at all convinced that Trump will continue to be an ally of Bitcoin if he does get elected for a second term. Even at Bitcoin 2024, his closing remarks \u2014\u201chave fun with your crypto, and Bitcoin, and all the other things you play with\u201d\u2014 made clear he doesn\u2019t actually care about Bitcoin in any real way. Indeed, just a few years ago, Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1149472282584072192\">said<\/a> he was \u201cnot a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, Trump needs your money and your vote\u2014 but he won\u2019t need that anymore after he is elected. Even if you want to take seriously his blabberings like \u201cminers get all the electricity they need for mining\u201d, is there any reason to believe he won\u2019t throw Bitcoin under the bus the moment that benefits him&#8230; most obviously, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BenjaminNorton\/status\/1834916602044989757\">in favor of the dollar<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Given Trump\u2019s track record of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/truth-o-meter\/promises\/trumpometer\/\">broken campaign promises<\/a> in his first term, I wouldn\u2019t expect anything else.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/takes\/aaron-trump-does-not-give-a-damn-about-bitcoin\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In his\u00a0take from this Monday, Nikolaus argued that Donald Trump is heavily pro-Bitcoin.
