John Amos<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 cause of death has been confirmed.<\/p>\n The Roots<\/em> star, who died Aug. 21 at age 84, succumbed to congestive heart failure, according to his death certificate obtained by TMZ<\/a>. The document also states that no autopsy was performed on his body, and he was cremated Aug. 30, nine days after his passing.<\/p>\n But while the Good Times <\/em>alum passed in August, it wasn\u2019t until October that his son, Kelly Christopher \u201cK.C.\u201d Amos<\/strong>, confirmed his death.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold\u2026 and he was loved the world over,\u201d K.C. told\u00a0Deadline<\/em><\/a> in an Oct. 1 statement. \u201cMany fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor.\u201d<\/p>\n The statement continued, \u201cMy father loved working as an actor throughout his entire life\u2026. most recently in\u00a0Suits LA<\/em>\u00a0playing himself and our documentary about his life journey as an actor,\u00a0America\u2019s Dad<\/em>. He was my dad, my best friend, and my hero.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
