The program was an open-source emulator for playing Nintendo Switch games on Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. A message shared today with the emulator&#8217;s Discord server stated that the developer was contacted by Nintendo with a deal to cease work on the project. No additional details were given about the conditions of that agreement. The same message was also posted on X:<\/p>\n<p>The emulator will still function for anyone already running it, but the Github repository has been removed. Ryujinx also made some headlines last month for running the new<em>\u00a0<\/em><a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/gaming\/nintendo\/the-legend-of-zelda-echoes-of-wisdom-is-as-familiar-as-it-is-fresh-120025682.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><em><\/em><\/a> game at more than <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/zelda-echoes-of-wisdom-120-fps-pc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:120 frames per second;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a>, vastly outstripping the Switch&#8217;s capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo has taken an aggressive stance on emulators, even teaming up with <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/nintendo-switch-developers-can-now-use-denuvo-to-curb-piracy-170254484.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:a cybersecurity firm;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> in 2023 to try and curb game piracy. Ryujinx is one of the more popular emulators it has taken on, but the game company also reached a <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:4;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/makers-of-switch-emulator-yuzu-quickly-settle-with-nintendo-for-24-million-203204698.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:$2.4 million;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:4;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> settlement with the emulator Yuzu in March.
