Ferrari named former Mercedes engineer Loic Serra as a technical director for its Formula 1 team on Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

The 52-year-old Frenchman starts on Oct. 1 and replaces the departed Enrico Cardile as chassis technical director.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Serra will report directly to team principal Fred Vasseur, Ferrari said in a press statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Enrico Gaultieri remains in his role as Ferrari’s technical director on the power unit side.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Cardile departed in July to accept a senior technical position at Aston Martin.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Serra had worked at Mercedes for more than a decade. He will be reunited with driver Lewis Hamilton when the seven-time world champion joins Ferrari for the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
