What everyday rituals do you look forward to? Early in 2021 \u2014 during quarantine \u2014 my friends and I challenged ourselves<\/a> to walk 10,000 to 12,000 steps per day. I quickly fell in love with walking \u2014\u00a0people watching, spotting cute dogs, clearing my mind, and feeling fresh air on my face. As they say, you\u2019re only a walk away from a good mood. Here are a few photos of my daily walk, in partnership with Lululemon<\/a>, if you\u2019d like to see\u2026<\/p>\n

Sometimes I\u2019ll take walks while wearing less comfy clothes (stiff jeans, dresses) but ideally before heading out the door, I\u2019ll pull on easy, soft pieces. Lately, I\u2019ve been gravitating toward matching sets<\/a>, like this cropped sweatshirt<\/a> and shorts<\/a>. How pretty is the pale blue shade?<\/p>\n

Because I\u2019ve lived in New York for 23 years<\/a>, walking and biking<\/a> have always been a part of daily life. But part of me dreaded the idea of meeting such a large step count \u2014\u00a012,000 is a lot of steps! Yet, after the first week, I found myself craving long walks. As my friend Gisela<\/a>, also a devoted walker, once said when she wakes up, \u201cIt\u2019s like I have a walk inside me.\u201d I loved that phrasing.<\/p>\n

I try to feel comfy but still pulled together. This lightweight trench<\/a> is perfect for spring and fall days. (It could also be dressed up with a mini skirt<\/a> or relaxed trousers<\/a>.) One route I really like goes to the Brooklyn Promenade<\/a>. The view of the Manhattan skyline takes your breath away, especially at sunset, and you sometimes see people getting engaged. Along the way, I also pass beautiful brownstones \u2014\u00a0people often leave their curtains open, and it\u2019s so fun to peek in at the artwork.<\/p>\n

Everyone looks good in a half zip \u2014 one of my most firmly held beliefs! I\u2019ve worn this white one<\/a> to the park with the boys and during evening stoop hangs with friends. It looks great with jeans and leggings and is an ideal travel piece for long journeys.<\/p>\n
