The app allows users to share their posts to Mastodon and other Activity Pub-enabled services and began <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/threads-can-now-show-replies-from-mastodon-and-other-fediverse-apps-224127213.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:showing replies;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> originating on those services earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Threads is making those replies even <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@pcottle\/post\/C_OGoCttX0n?xmt=AQGz-iKs2R5264Y4TIxRzpIy2672-M1seDiRvZTft8RhTA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:more visible;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> by allowing users who have opted in to fediverse sharing to see replies on other people\u2019s posts. Up until now, most users probably weren\u2019t seeing that many replies from Mastodon and other sites unless they had a particularly large following or a post that was widely shared. But now, you\u2019ll be able to see all those replies just by browsing Threads.<\/p>\n<p>As with previous updates, Threads\u2019 support for other Activity Pub content is still limited. Users need to <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/a-threads-beta-lets-you-share-to-mastodon-and-other-fediverse-services-194732036.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:opt-in;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:3;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"><\/a> to fediverse sharing in order to view replies from other apps. The feature, which is still labeled as being in \u201cbeta,\u201d notes that some replies may not be visible on the Meta-owned service. And Threads still doesn\u2019t support replies to those replies, which drastically limits the ability to engage with other fediverse users.
