Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a><\/span> is the latest entry in Ryan Reynolds\u2019 R-rated Marvel trilogy and the first one to be officially part of the MCU. The action comedy also stars Hugh Jackman, returning to play a new version of Wolverine following the character\u2019s death in Logan<\/em>. There was a lot of hype surrounding the comic book flick and thanks to mostly positive reviews and competition like Borderlands <\/em>flopping hard<\/em><\/a><\/span>, the latest Deadpool <\/em>movie has made history.<\/p>\n

On August 15, Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a><\/span> <\/em>officially became the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history, beating out WB and DC\u2019s Joker <\/em>starring Joaquin Phoenix. Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>\u2019s box office total now sits at $1,085,529,057, which just beats out Joker\u2019s <\/em>$1,078,751,311. <\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see if\u2014in an effort to retake the top spot\u2014WB re-releases Joker <\/em>in theaters ahead of this year\u2019s sequel starring Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn<\/a><\/span>. <\/p>\n
