Justin Baldoni<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is getting candid about the delicate\u00a0balance acting in and directing a film.<\/p>\n It Ends With Us<\/em><\/a>\u00a0marked his first time pulling double duty on a project, and he admitted\u00a0it was an “extreme challenge”\u00a0at times\u2014especially when working with so many different points of view on set.<\/p>\n “Every movie is a miracle,” Justin told\u00a0Today.com<\/a>\u00a0in an interview published Aug. 9. “And then, of course, you’re navigating complex personalities and trying to get everybody on the same page with the same vision. And mistakes are always made, and then you figure out how to move past them.”<\/p>\n But his approach to helming the adaptation of the 2016\u00a0Colleen Hoover<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0novel\u2014which\u00a0costars\u00a0Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Brandon Sklenar<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>Jenny Slate<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Isabela Ferrer<\/strong><\/a>\u2014from a very collaborative place.<\/p>\n “I’m a ‘best idea wins’ person,” he\u00a0explained, “and I always have been, to a fault.”<\/p>\n In fact, Justin noted that at times it felt like people on set were wondering “if I know what I’m doing or if I have a point of view, because I’m so willing to have my vision changed.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
