In it they were told the publication was closing immediately, they were all laid off, and would begin receiving severance terms. At least one staffer was in the middle of a work trip when the team was told. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 fnnahv\">The sudden closure of <em>Game Informer<\/em> means that issue number 367, the outlet\u2019s <em>Dragon Age: The Veilguard <\/em>cover story, will be its last physical magazine. The entire website has been taken offline as well. A recent in-depth feature on the retro game studio Digital Eclipse about gaming\u2019s history and preservation is one of the stories that is no longer accessible. A write-up about <em>Game Informer<\/em>\u2019s famous game vault, containing releases from across its decades long history, is also inaccessible. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"sc-1bwb26k-1 dezcon\" id=\"h21461\">More than just a magazine <\/h2>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 fnnahv\">In its heyday,<em> Game Informer<\/em> was the leading monthly magazine among a group of publications that included <em>Game Pro<\/em>, <em>Electronic Gaming Monthly<\/em>, and several others, as well as platform-centric periodicals like <em>Nintendo Power<\/em>.
