Though\u00a0Bomer wasn’t cast as the Man of Steel, he’s starred in several film and TV series, including\u00a0Fellow\u00a0Travelers<\/em>,\u00a0Magic Mike<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0White Collar<\/em>,\u00a0In Time<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Normal Heart<\/em>\u2014with him winning a\u00a0Golden Globe<\/a>\u00a0and receiving an\u00a0Emmy<\/a>\u00a0nomination for his work in the latter.<\/p>\n And in a 2020 interview, he spoke about what it was like for him to come out when he did.<\/p>\n “I came out at a time when it was very risky to do so\u2014I had a studio film that was about to premiere, and a television series coming out,” Bomer\u2014who shares three kids with husband\u00a0Simon Halls<\/strong>\u2014told\u00a0Attitude<\/em><\/a>. “But to me it was more important to be my most authentic self, both for my family, and for myself.”<\/p>\n He added, “I wasn’t trying to be a role model, nor am I now, but I thought if it could help just one person, then it would be worth it. But to say that didn’t cost me certain things in my career would be a lie. It did.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
