The other day, I found myself falling in love<\/em> with summer looks from an unexpected source\u2026<\/p>\n

The original Parent Trap<\/a>. Have you seen it? Growing up, I was obsessed with the Nancy Meyers version<\/a> (who else wanted to be Hallie when they grew up?), and I was unsure of how the \u201960s version would hold up. Turns out, it\u2019s filled with just as many hilarious hijinks and aspirational outfits. Below are three looks that I\u2019ll be recreating this summer\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Catherine<\/a><\/p>\n

1) Peasant blouses \u2014 think: scoop necks and smocking \u2014 feel romantic and relaxed for warm evenings. Three examples: embroidered<\/a>, off-the-shoulder<\/a>, and voluminous<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Gingham<\/a><\/p>\n

2) A gingham swimsuit \u2014 Gingham is a classic summer print, and I\u2019m especially loving it on a swimsuit. Three examples: pastels<\/a>, triangle<\/a>, plunge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3) A va va voom<\/em> dress \u2014 I tend to save stunners like this for weddings, but seeing Maureen O\u2019Hara\u2019s floral version is convincing me to dress up for dinner with friends or walks with my husband. Three examples: polka dot<\/a>, floral<\/a>, and cut-out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What movies or shows are inspiring your style this summer? I also love the outfits in Dirty Dancing<\/a> and Stella Got Her Groove Back<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n
