Would you go to a reading party? \u201cOn Sunday afternoons, my friend and I would bring snacks, climb onto big couches, and read for three hours,\u201d commented a reader named Lauren<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019d take a few gab breaks, but mostly we\u2019d enjoy each other\u2019s company while reading. Now, a few years out and currently mothering a toddler, I cannot believe the luxury we didn\u2019t know we had!\u201d Another fun idea? Says Kirsten: \u201cI once started a bookclub called \u2018Don\u2019t Tell me what the F to read.\u2019 We all met up and talked about what we were reading, and people could ask questions. Last summer, I fell in love with Vacation sunscreen<\/a> \u2014\u00a0the coconut-y scent is famously good \u2014 and this summer I\u2019ve been into their whip mousse<\/a>. It goes on like whipped cream, so even my kids want to apply it (!!!!!!).<\/p>\n

Another day, I stopped by my friend Izzy\u2019s<\/a> house and spotted a rad trucker\u2019s cap with a photo of her and her son. \u201cWe got it at the Kenosha County Fair in Wisconsin,\u201d she told me. \u201cIt brings us joy every time we remember it exists.\u201d You can order a similar one here<\/a>, if you\u2019re so moved \u2014 would make a funny gift.<\/p>\n

For quick dinners these days, I recently remembered the tuna melt. Couldn\u2019t be easier, and my two hungry boys wolf them. What other easy meals do you swear by? (This corn recipe<\/a> is also on our rotation.)<\/p>\n
